The Center was formed under the auspices of the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and through the generous support of Deepak and Neera Raj. Prior to the establishment of the Deepak and Neera Raj Center on Indian Economic Policies, research on the Indian economy at Columbia University was undertaken by the Program on Indian Economic Policies, funded by the John Templeton Foundation.
